While at the mall they discover a globe that has a glowing mass that if in the hands of the wrong people ends up turning them into giant praying mantis creatures. Austin and Robby explore an underground shelter that will lead to their survival known as project Eden.
The intended audience for this book is readers ages 16 and up. Smith's use of creatures that develop into praying mantis give the reader a look into the science fiction genre.
